TERI- BCSD's Third Executive Committee Meeting for the year 2011-13

TERI-BCSD organized its Third Ex-Com (Executive Committee) meeting for the year 2011-13 on 02 May 2012 at the premises of PTC India Ltd in New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Dr R K Pachauri, President, TERI-BCSD and hosted by Mr Tantra Narayan Thakur, CMD, PTC India.
The Ex-Com meeting was attended by Mr Prasad Chandran, Chairman BASF Companies in India and Head South Asia, Mr CN Raghupathi, India Business Head, Infosys Technologies Ltd and Ms Annapurna Vancheswaran Director, Sustainable Development Outreach, TERI. Special guest, Mrs. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Dy. Managing Director & Corporate Developments Officer, State Bank of India was also present in the meeting.
Dr. Pachauri while thanking Mr. Tantra Narayan Thakur for hosting the meeting at their New Delhi office welcomed Mr. Prasad Chandran as the new member to the Executive Council. Dr. Pachauri also introduced Mr. Dipankar Sanyal as the CEO of TERI-BCSD. While welcoming Mrs. Arundhati Bhattacharya representing State Bank of India as special invitee, Dr. Pachauri, mentioned the critical role financial institutions play in encouraging sustainable practices among their customers while citing the ICT revolution in the banking sector.
The meeting discussed the actions taken on last Ex Com Meeting held in August 2012 and the list of ongoing and future activities of TERI-BCSD. The Ex-Com was introduced with new Membership Scheme of TERI-BCSD and revised value proposition. The Ex Com was apprised of council"s plans to roll out SME membership system and efforts towards imparting knowledge and skills through planned MDP and Training programmes.
It was proposed that TERI-BCSD focuses on 3 industry sectors; e.g. Chemical Sector, Automobiles and ICT. Visualizing national progress and innovative programmes by the state to encourage energy efficiency, Mr. Sanyal presented plan to reach different parts of the country in partnership with industry associations; AIMA, FICCI, NASSCOM, ACMA and others.
The next Ex Com meeting proposed to be held in September 2012 at Bangalore.
